<lj:music>Saviour Machine → Promise</lj:music>

I was asked to do this and while I suck at choosing such things, I also love geeky discussions and this is a great way to do it :B

10. King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride. The first I played in this series is VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow which has a special place in my heart but it is undeniably on the (good) generic side. VII on the other hand is much more humourous. Defeat the big bad witch with a baby making machine, overdose on baked beetles and of course, always take the faux shop with a grain of salt.

9. Final Fantasy I. This will be a trend! Of course these days, the game play is nothing really special, but it gets a nod just for being the Daddy of all fantasy RPGs.

8. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. This is the first Zelda game I actually beat, if not owned and one day I'll probably get Oracle of Seasons to do it properly. This one is nice on its own though, and one of the few to not involve Zelda herself. This time you have to rescue Naryu, a woman in charge of time. There's a lot of jumping back and forth between the past and present, and a nice bunch of dungeons and puzzles that it got addictive really fast D:

7. Silent Hill: The Room. THIS GAME IS AWESOME. It is properly unnerving as a Silent Hill game should be and the graphics are great and I am a sucker for horror. Plus the room is fun, if you like evil and amoral things that simply are. (I do and it's my list so there.)

6. Final Fantasy II. It got retro popularity when Dissidia came out and Firion was a hit but that is a poor reason to like it when it's really a lot of fun. The levelling system takes some getting used to or so the internet complains, but it's really not so bad; people just increase in proficiency with whatever you give them. Mateus is a nicely evil, single-minded bastard of a villain, the token girl is actually a useful, not-whiny party member and there's no irritating side quests for whatever stupid but vital!!1! trinket one might need for a single piece of equipment. <strike> VI ripped this game off and I don't care what anyone else says.</strike>

5. Baroque. This is a really creepy game. And hard. Fortunately, in one of the many unusual characteristics of the game, dying is the only way to advance. You can acquire magical attributes using Idea Sephirath, different types of weapons, (mostly swords or guns), and the things you can talk to. Longneck thing and Hanging Man are creepy as hell. You get flashbacks that really leave you hanging, and the Littles. Oh god, the Littles. There's something :( about killing angel fetuses.

4. Final Fantasy IV. Fittingly enough! I warned you. But it's got the first nice twist of dark and light in an FF game as far as I can remember, Dark Knight turned Paladin Cecil, brainwashed and repentant Golbez. The come-and-go party member system II established that continues here is annoying, but you can just store their old equipment for when they return now, so it's a little less irritating without the strong but potentially useless item just taking up inventory space. And the brothers are sweet, no way around it.

3. Mario Kart Racing. Aw, stfu. It's awesome and if you need an explanation then you make my brain hurt.

2. Final Fantasy: Dissidia. Oh god I am a fag. But it is such a fun game and there are so many things to buy and you can play everyone and ajkldhgaskljda. Online multiplayer mode is sexy and the recipe items amuses me and how do I explain this game :( If you don't like the Final Fantasy series you won't understand/like this (probably), but if you do... then you don't need me for this!

1. Pacman: ???. I don't remember the title of this, it's one I used to play at my babysitter's house, years ago. But was much more in the vein of modern games, with interactive enviroments and... okay the only other thing I can remember was a level consisting almost entirely of running from a disembodied mummy's hand, but that's also awesome!
